About Me:
My name is Ashley Gilgore, and I am the school counselor at Bart-Colerain Elementary School. This is my fourth year at Bart-Colerain, and in Solanco School District, and I am so excited to be working with you all again! I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology/Criminology at Millersville University, in Millersville, PA, and I received my Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Liberty University, in Lynchburg, VA. I am also now once again a student at Liberty University, pursuing a Master of Arts in Crisis Response and Trauma Counseling, which I will graduate with in May 2023. During undergraduate and graduate school, I had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including a juvenile detention center, a domestic violence shelter, and an alternative school setting. These experiences helped me prepare for the many challenges that may come my way as a school counselor.
This year at Bart-Colerain, I will be working with all students to help them succeed academically and socially. I will teach classroom lessons in every grade, focusing on topics like bullying, conflict resolution, listening, attendance, career exploration, organization, teamwork, and self-control. I also conduct small group counseling, and individual counseling on an as-needed basis.
Outside of school, I have been married to my husband Albert for 10 years, and have a 7-year-old daughter named Madison. I also have 2 little Maltese-Yorkie dogs, Gatsby and Daisy, named after my favorite book, The Great Gatsby, and a cat named Lilac. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching sports, going to the beach, and spending time with my friends and family.
I look forward to working with all staff, parents/guardians, and students to ensure that we have a great year at Bart-Colerain!
